Week Two: MOCA Kees Roobol

Kees Roobol, a 48 year old research scientist from Belgium.  He has been drawing since 17 and states he had to choose between science and art , he chose science to make a living and art for his hobby.  He has worked with the following types of media; oil paint, pastels, charcoal and pencil and also photography and video.  He uses the following applications Bryce 5, Painter 7, Photoshop 4, Raydream 4 and Poser 3 to create a 3 D effect.
A quote from Roobal regarding his works:
“For the final render I prefer real humans; these can be friends, neighbours or actors at historical reconstructions or in historical museums... In the second phase, the entire scene is built in Bryce... And of course, once I have finished the resemblance to the original idea is usually only marginal.... About 100-150 hours of work for a single image are not exceptional, hence my productivity of 5-6 image per year."

I love the landscapes and the use of layering which brings dimension to his pictures.

  1. Week Two: MOCCA STeve EDGE

Steve Edge was born in Atlanta, Georgia and always had a visual and passion for art and music. When he writes or doodles is all by instinct no reasoning behind it. Edge uses traditional art as well as digital art. He does not see any distinction between the two, he says “the tools change but they are after all only tools”
This image I found was created through digital art. I found it interested because you see the flesh shadow and then digital.
