On the MOCA website (Museum of Computer Art), Gary Allen was an artist I found interesting. Many of the other artwork on the site were very abstract. However, the image of the flower was very simple, but nicely created. The image is called "Celebify." The flower portrays nature and it's beauty on the earth. He mentions: "My work is an extension of my deep personal regard for life and art." Gary Allen created his work by using his original photography in combination with Photographic Refacimento. He also mentions: "I use the computer to alter the architecture of reality; paint with the extremes of color; create movement and flow; and isolate and focus the viewer's mind." Basically, he used his photographic skills, computer skills, and creativity to create his artwork. Art is usually in the eye of the beholder; what one person finds artistic another person may not. I'm not into much of the bizarre and weird forms of art, but more of the natural, peaceful, and simple forms of art. Gary Allen's flower is simple and peaceful. Below is the image:

Bringing beauty to the things we overlook..
Gary Allen: "I am often moved by objects and events that most people would overlook."
That is one of the main roles of the artist, to see deeply into the everyday world around you....
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice piece. Pictures of flowers are one of my favorite things to see. This one really makes you sense the flower and the pollen that you get from the lilly when it brushes your face.
