MOCA week 4 - To be or not to be & The painter of emotions

To be or not to be
The painter of emotions

Luca Cervini was born in Italy in 1983.  According to the summary in the MOCA website, his interests include comics, illustration, narrative, poetry, photography, and cinema. His digital art is symbolist-surreal, painted, drawn and collaged on the computer. He writes that his art "represent[s] the awareness of a past or forthcoming change [and] contain[s] deep messages expressed by means of the symbolic combination of different elements." He says his work is "sometimes ominous, sometimes sad."
I really like both of these paintings as to me it demonstrates having the ability to make choices in your life.
To be or not to be – I see this picture as someone who is trying to come out of their shell to demonstrate who they truly are or want to be and not live a life as he/she is expected to live.
The painter of emotions – This photo as well is a photo where it seems you could pick the mood you wish to be in on a certain day.  Which face will I wear today?  Sometimes I wish it was that easy!
