John Macpherson

John Macpherson was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1932.   He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1956 with a MS in Aero-Space Engineering. In 1960 he discovered his he had an interest in art. While teaching at a university he also earned a B.A in Visual Arts.

Macpherson is a very talented artist who works with photographs and Fractals.  He uses Photoshop and blends between 2 to 5 layers. John Macpherson says, "The main purpose of art is to give people a respite from the human condition". I totally agree with him.

In both pieces, the colors are fun and bright. The mix of photograph and Fractals works really well together. The background images really caught my eye. In the first piece I noticed a woman dressed like she was going to a formal event but her head was missing. The second one looks like an underwater scene.
